“Paxton did things to me. Things I couldn’t explain. My body reacted to him like- danger. A thrill seeker. That’s how I felt around him. Like jumping out of a plane. The ecstasy of it overpowering the danger.”
Suit – Slut- Solid may be my most unique reads of 2015. The story was so twisted and layered it’s like nothing you ever read before. You don’t know whether to love or hate the male lead or whether to trust the heroine. Just when you think you know what’s going on, the rug is pulled from under you. The Twin duo series is engrossing, engaging and unputdownable. It’s a mind-fuck of epic proportions that leaves you wondering about the character’s real feelings, but even more so, it makes you wonder about your own.
“This is the end to my Saturday night. My cat has watched me whack off to a vision of my best friend.
“Don’t say a word,” I hiss.
He looks away, lifting his chin haughtily. But he’ll keep my secret. I’ll keep his, too, the fucking little voyeur.”
Big Rock by Lauren Blakely is literally a PERFECT book for me. I read to be happy and this book made me happy in so many ways! It was sweet, romantic, sexy, funny, hot as hell, a male point of view, and I loved all of the characters. It honestly scares me that this was my first read of 2016 because I can’t imagine it getting much better than this. Not only am I sure that Big Rock will be on my best of 2016 list already, but this will be an all-time favorite. Lauren Blakely has a big new fan in me!
“A woman in a black lace bra and black thong with a garter belt and thigh highs stood in front of a mirror. Her head was thrown back, resting on the shoulder of the man behind her. He was shirtless and in a pair of suit pants….his hand was wrapped around her throat and the other dipped into the front of her thong. Over and over again, on a loop, his hand slipped beneath the lace, a teasing stroke, as the woman’s mouth opened in a silent ‘o’…”
If you enjoy reading a low angst storyline with a high dose of heat, this is an absolutely PERFECT read! I enjoyed it so thoroughly! After completing Changing His Game, I IMMEDIATELY picked up the next book in the series, Playing For Her Heart. Megan Erickson has secured a new loyal reader. I fully intend to binge read all of her books!
Book 2: Overall, a FANTASTIC read. Perfect blend of heat, humor, and heart. I just love the characters in this series. I want to be their friends! And I’m totally salivating for Ethan’s story!
The instant I caught sight of him, I froze.
He was tall.
His eyes were the color of the ocean.
And he made me believe that I could want something, take it and have it.
Own it.
Keep it.
Something precious would be mine.
Even if that belief only lasted seconds, I’d waited all my life to feel that feeling.
To really, really believe.
Kristen Ashley hits another home run with Sebring. It was an unputdownable roller coaster. Nick has redeemed himself from previous books and you can’t help but love him, and my heart broke for the “Ice Princess”, Olivia. Together they were so hot, so sexy. I loved watching the walls slowly crumble down and I couldn’t help but root for the couple to get the happily ever after they deserved after the shit they have been through. Seeing all the previous characters as well as some from other series was just icing on the cake. Sebring was a great ending to another amazing series!
“Has it really been that long? Yup, it’s been that long. If my vagina could cough, it would cough up a cobweb with a note that read “Just pick a penis and get on with it. A girl needs her salami every once in a while.”
If you have a sibling, especially a brother, you can really appreciate the love and stupidity that goes along with reliving childhood road trips. While The Mother Road was absolutely hysterical, there was also a lot of beauty, emotion and messages that came through loud and clear. The family love, the pure “meant to be together” love, and the message to put aside your fears and go for it, because life is short message broke through the silly humor.
The Mother Road had everything I love in a book. It made my heart smile, my eyes tear in laughter and sentimentality, it made me swoon, snort, and call my family. (And yeah, send my sister a funny swinging dick pic.) And I have so many highlights it’s killing me to not share all the funniest lines. But you’ll have to see for yourself.
“I’m the man who took you against your will and handcuffed you to my fucking bed. I’m the man who wanted you, so I fucking kept you.”
I enjoyed Tyrant a little more than King. King was almost a really long setup for the action packed rollercoaster that was Tyrant. It was everything everyone said it would be. I was so scared to read the series because I am not a lover of dark, but I do love gritty, and King and Tyrant have that in spades. I am mad at myself for waiting so long to read these books, because they were 2 of the best I read all year and I’m so glad I finished in 2015 so I could add them to my best of the year list. The audiobook narrators were fabulous, and added to the book. In fact, it was the first time I listened to an audiobook where I couldn’t even do anything at the same time. Dark, emotional, gritty, compelling, exciting, heartbreaking, and romantic, King and Tyrant had it all. I can’t wait for the next two!
“You didn’t really bring me beets, did you?” …
“I did,” he murmured, his thumbs sliding underneath my T-shirt the tiniest bit. “I brought mad beets.” “Oh man,” I snorted, which changed to a snortmmm as he nuzzled my neck. “Did you bring me anything else?” He brought his face back to mine, tinged with the slightest of blush. “I hesitate to say it now.” “What did you bring?” I asked, shaking his shoulders. He buried his head once again into my neck. “A really big zucchini” was the muffled reply, and I threw my head back and laughed.
I love the way Nuts had a lot of modern funny innuendos but really made you want to get back to a simpler time and place. I loved the small Hudson Valley town depicted in Nuts, and I’m thinking a small town sounds awesome. I listened to the audiobook with a huge smile on my face the whole time, and found myself not wanting to listen because I didn’t want it to end. Alice Clayton knows just how to write my perfect type of book, with humor, heat and heart.
“I still love…that elevator.”
I wanted to love Love in the Light so much. I was so freaking excited. I waited almost four years for this and I’m honestly not sure I would read it again if given the chance. I found parts depressing to read and found Caden to be too un-alpha for me and Makenna too perfect. Some of it I loved, so I am a bit torn on my rating. The sex was phenomenal. The connection between the characters was great. You never doubted the love. But I think personal experiences cloud my judgement a bit on this one. It all hit a little too close to home for me, and I know that they are in for a lifetime of fighting the battle. Plus, I really like a confident guy, and Caden was not that, at all. Based on the average rating I see for Love in the Light, many people don’t agree with my thoughts. So I say if you have read Hearts in Darkness and loved it, you need to be prepared for plenty of angst in Love in the Light.
“I’m going to fuck the life out of you, cruel girl. Sit beside another man? Deny me the privilege of being the one who makes you come? Your lesson was lost in my jealousy. Untie me so I can take it out on your pussy.”
This book was chock-full of laughs, love, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and steam that will set your kindle ablaze. Classic Tessa Bailey at its finest.
Boiling Point is brilliant. Incredibly unique. A devastatingly beautiful push and pull of sin and redemption… of confidence and insecurities… of control and submission. This book is simply exquisite.
Tessa Bailey, you have outdone yourself. Again. I was hungover for DAYS. And this book is definitely in my reread collection, along with the rest of the series.
“Everyone thinks they’ll handle shit with grace, but in reality, our fears start to suffocate us. I’m no different— my fears are many and real. We’re all fragile, filled with insecurities and worry, and we shouldn’t be judged on how we behave in our darkest hour because it’s never pretty. We should be judged on our life as a whole— the way we love, how we treat others— and not how we act when our world is crumbling around us.”
Overall, I truly enjoyed this story. Be warned, your emotions will be high. I would suggest having a tissue or two nearby, there is no shortage of feels. Enshrine is different from Miss Bliss’s other books. She went out on a bit of a limb…and I’m so glad she did. This is a beautiful story and I am certain you will enjoy it as much as I did.
“Being the provider of the first big “O” gives me some power. It elevates my status. I’m the White Knight in the land of Orgasmia, wielding my magical sword of awesome.”
I know this review sounds pretty negative, which isn’t like me, but I expected more after Pucked. The set-up for Pucked Over had me really excited though, and now that I’m reading it, I’m loving it. Overall I really did enjoy Pucked Up. I just didn’t connect with Sunny and felt more sorry for Buck (Miller) than I felt like he was a book boyfriend. I mean the poor guy just had everything go wrong! He had to work, HARD to get Sunny to return his feelings, and I just never felt like he got them back from Sunny 100%. Overall, I would recommend reading this if you loved Pucked, because you will Love Pucked Over too, and you need to read Pucked Up to fill in the blanks. It’s still a fun read, it just didn’t make me want to hug my kindle at the end.
My friends’ top picks for 2015 (yeah….mine is coming, with 3 more friends!)
Bestsellers for January 2016
It’s not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It’s definitely the SIZE of the boat too.
And I’ve got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big c&$k.
You might think I’m an as%*$le. I sound like one, don’t I? I’m hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse.
Guess what? You haven’t heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind.
The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock.
And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets.
But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her.
What the hell have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?
BIG ROCK is a standalone, dirty romance novel written from the guy’s POV by NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely…
I absolutely LOVED this book! Will be on my favorites of 2016 list for sure!

“An epic love. An epic hate. An epic story that would last a lifetime.”
I hurt. I hurt so deeply, I felt the pain searing in my bones and jabbing like a hot poker into my heart. I knew nothing would make it better as the memories pulled from the crevices of my mind, detailing the bad and the ugly, filling my thoughts with regret as I slipped into the darkness. . .
When I was eight, my mother was dying of cancer, my father lost his job, and the bank kicked us out of our house. I was forced to move to the strange town of Arlis, Texas where my father and I slept in our car in the hospital parking lot. Desperate and hopeless, we lived on fumes of our former life.
Then one night, everything changed forever. A knock on the car window brought a family into my life that I only wanted to shut out. I hated charity and I hated the Masons. Well, except one. He made it impossible to hate him.
Jess Mason had the biggest blue eyes and ornery smile of any boy I had ever seen. He was a ray of sunshine in my dark world. A boy full of adventure, dragging me across the meadow of Sprayberry Ranch; a beautiful Texas paradise full of horses and tree houses that got us into more trouble than anyone ever imagined.
Jess was my everything as a kid until we grew up and the rules changed. Instead of living happily ever after with a boy full of love. . . I destroyed it.

***The 2nd standalone novel in The Pucked Series***
Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.
Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.
Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he’s going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Mirror, mirror … who’s the fairest of them all?
I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn’t grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all ‘mean girls.’
And those mean girls were right – it was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world – and I knew the answer would never be me.
The women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests.
The type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward.
Well, that’s definitely not Willow Tate.
No. That will never be me.
Because I’m completely imperfect.
And … I hate myself.
I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them.
Amazing message! Must read! See my review.

Elise
I’m obsessed with Aston.
He became my addiction the moment I met him at 10 years old.
He was my best friend from childhood.
He protected me and guided me.
I loved him fiercely long before I really understood what love was.
We were inseparable.
He knew how I felt, and sometimes he would stare at me in ways that made me breathless.
But there were boundaries. Lines that couldn’t be crossed. Looks that shouldn’t be exchanged. Lips that shouldn’t be kissed.
We weren’t supposed to love each other. Not in **that** way.
Because, you see, Aston was also my adopted brother…
Aston
Elise was off-limits, a temptation that cursed my existence with this visceral hunger to have her, possess her, and taste her like she was made for me. I was tormented and on the brink of falling. If I stepped over that boundary, if I gave into my want, I wasn’t sure I could survive the disappointment of my adopted parents. We would all be affected. Our lives wouldn’t be the way it was. That change was irreversible, and the damage would be permanent. It was a scary thought, destroying a foundation and rebuilding it without knowing what it might end up looking like.
But my want for her…it sat in the core of me, growing and growing. And want is a dangerous fucking thing. It clouds your judgment, it makes you weak, and I knew…I knew without a doubt, it was only a matter of time before I cracked.
Obsession was devotion. Obsession was mania and need. It was a compulsive urge to self-gratify by wanting, and wanting, and wanting ‘til it hurt, ‘til you could feel it there in your bones, gnawing its way deeper within you.
Obsession was my craze for Elise. She was my impulse. My…pulse itself.
It wasn’t healthy. I knew that.
I didn’t fucking care either.

Sinclair Adams is my name and tattooing motherf#@kers is my game. I was good to go in life. A job, house, car, and a great family standing behind me. However, my life up until this point could only be described as one thing.
Toxic.
Yes, my childhood was great. I have the best parents a girl could ask for and the greatest friends that would do almost anything for me. However, that’s not the toxic part. That part of my life began when I was sixteen years old. When Alex Pierce came to live next door in a small one-bedroom house. Just seeing all his muscled up sexiness had me in fits each time I saw him.
After having our one night of fun where he took my virginity, he moved away. I thought I would never see him again, and it broke me. However, I should’ve known that all things are not that simple. Of course, it was fourteen years down the road when it happened; in the tattoo parlor (Get Inked) that I work at of all places. From the moment, his hazel eyes met mine I knew I was in trouble.
I remembered him. The way his muscles bounced as he ran up the street late at night. The thin layer of sweat that always, always coated his hot-as-f#@k body, and the feel of his skin underneath my fingers as he took me for the first and only time. He is a walking wet dream. One that up until now had disappeared.
Now I find myself between a rock and a hard place. The rock being our son and the hard place being him…
What the hell am I going to do?

I’M MARRYING AN OUTLAW AND I CAN’T FAKE IT…
ELLE JO
Forget the flowers and tender kisses. I’m marrying a man who took a bullet for me tomorrow, and I don’t have a choice.
Did I say he’s an outlaw? Asphalt has slayed more men on the road and taken more women between the sheets than I can ever count.
He’s arrogant. Savage. So handsome and wild I should slap him for being this beautiful while he does every sin in the book. When he tells me I’m going to say I do, and mean it, I want to believe him.
Especially when he’s the boy I left behind. All the insanity I tried to escape when I stopped being the sheltered club princess.
So, why the hell can’t I keep my lips off his when he gives me that smirk and whispers filthy things in my ear?
ASPHALT
She thinks it’s pretend, and club business is the only reason I’m slapping my brand on her skin. What a damned joke.
Elle got away from me years ago. Never again.
I’m putting her where she belongs the second I hear “kiss the bride.” Yeah, I told my brothers I’d go along with this sham marriage to save the Grizzlies MC. They don’t know how bad I need her.
This isn’t pretend anymore. The good girl act won’t save her this time. I’m keeping my bride.
I can’t forget the kiss that turned me into an obsessed lunatic. I’ll own her on my bike, in my bed, wreck her for any other man, or I’ll be dead.

One hot architect. One naughty schoolteacher. One crazy night that changes everything.
If I had known I’d have a hot architect balls deep inside of me before the end of the weekend, I’d have made time for a pedicure. Also, a little chat about not losing my shit at all the wrong moments.
Hindsight was a bitch, and karma…well, I didn’t know her story yet.
Meet Lauren Halsted.
It’s all the little things–the action plans, the long-kept promises–that started falling apart when my life slipped into controlled chaos.
After I fell ass-over-elbow into Matthew Walsh’s arms.
I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to run screaming or rip his pants off, and most days I wanted a little of both. If I was being honest with myself, it was rip his pants off, ride him like a workhorse, and then run screaming.
Meet Matthew Walsh.
A rebellious streak ran through Lauren Halsted. It was fierce and unrelentingly beautiful, and woven through too many good girl layers to count, and she wasn’t letting anyone tell her what to do.
Unless, of course, she was naked.
She wasn’t looking for me and I sure as shit wasn’t looking for her, but we found each other anyway and now we were locked in a battle of wills, waiting for the other to blink.
Sometimes the universe conspires to bring people together. Other times, it throws them down a flight of stairs and leaves them in a bruised and bloodied heap.
