Kindle Bestsellers September 2014 with Gift Card Giveaway

10/03/2014

Best Sellers MAY

Every month I do a list of the top 20 sellers from all of my links on Amazon US, and I give away a $25 Amazon Card and a Choice of e-book from this list. Here is the list for September 2014.

1. Sasha (Mixed Drinks #1) by Rae Matthews (1st in a series of connected standalones)

When it comes to relationships, I have really bad luck. Each time I meet a guy, I cross my fingers and hope he is at least halfway normal. I’m so tired of dealing with crybabies and freak shows that I could just scream. At this point, I’m so close to just joining a convent, taking the vow of chastity, and calling it quits with men entirely. Well, I probably don’t need to go to that extreme… I mean who am I kidding? There’s no way I could be a nun. But becoming an old crotchety lady with 20 cats lurking around? Now THAT is a definite possibility. That is until I see him, my brown-eyed stallion man, swooping in to save me from an unforeseen wrinkly old balls attack, and then… he is gone. Well, not gone completely, because I can’t stop fantasizing about him.
I fantasize about him so much that when I finally do see him again, I make a complete and total ass of myself. Several times in fact. How I do not drop dead of embarrassment right then and there is beyond me.
So, remember I said I have really bad luck? Well, sit back, grab a glass of wine or your favorite mixed drink, and let me tell you how it all started, and how it all ends…

~ Renaming my past boyfriends has always been a favorite pastime of ours. Why not give them a more fitting name, because who really needs to remember the guy’s real name? You want a name to remind you why it didn’t work, so at three in the morning on a drunken, horny night you don’t call him. Thinking you made a mistake. In this case, The Huffer left no room for regret.

~ “So are we going to talk about the fact that your jeans have ripped apart like a hooker’s legs on a Friday night?” he asks and starts laughing

~ “I could go for a Sinful 7, but only if you will share it with me.” I say as I look up from the menu to Bash
“I think I could be sinful with you” he responds seductively. Bash gives me a look that I haven’t seen yet. I think it is a lets go back to your apartment and get sinful look.
I look back at the bartender and say “One Sinful 7 please. To go!”

I absolutely LOVED this totally laugh-your-ass-off book!

2. Locke (Corps Security Book 6)  by Harper Sloan (Last in a series of interconnected Standalones)

Darkness is the only thing I see. Ever since the day my life changed. The day that everything and everyone I held close to me ceased to exist. The day I lost it all and the demons of my past consumed my every waking moment.

I tried to keep others at arm’s length. Tried not to let my darkness taint them. Ruin them. Harm them. And whether I want to admit it or not, as much as I wish I could keep them locked out, they refuse to leave. Refuse to let me suffer alone.

If I hadn’t been so focused on keeping those demons from flying free, I wouldn’t have missed how one perfect angel was able to sneak her way under my skin—refusing to let go. Making me want things I don’t deserve.

She consumes me. Her beauty knows no end. The love she promises tempts me every time she’s near. But that pure heart that makes her MY Emmy is the one thing I’m convinced I’ll destroy if I ever let her close.

I’m a broken man. A broken man with too much darkness in his soul to ever let her light shine upon me. But even that doesn’t stop me from craving her with every single breath in my body.

**This is the final book in the Corps Security series. This book is not suitable for younger readers. There is strong language, adult situations, and some violence.*

Series order: Axel | Cage | Beck  | Uncaged  | Cooper | Locke

3. Monster in His Eyes by JM Darhower (Book 1 of 2)

Don’t say it unless you mean it…

It’s a simple concept, one I’ve said time and again, but something people don’t seem to comprehend. You should choose every syllable carefully, because you never know when somebody will hold you to your word.

Somebody like me.

I’m not a good man. I’m not. I know. I have enough darkness inside of me to rid the world of every stitch of light. But there’s one I could never harm, one light I couldn’t bring myself to snuff out.

Karissa.

She thinks I’m a monster, and maybe I am. I taunt her with my touch, get a thrill out of torturing her soul. But I’m not the only one. The world is full of monsters, and I’m not the most dangerous one out there.

Not even close…

God help me, I love her.

I do.

And God help anybody who tries to take her from me.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: This book is intended for a mature audience only, due to some dark and erotic content.

5.  Hemy (Walk Of Shame #2) by Victoria Ashley (Interconnected standalone)

My name is Hemy Knox and I’m a fucking heartbreaker . . .

I’ve hurt the one person that means the most to me in life; the only woman I have ever fucking loved. I let the drugs, alcohol and wild life take over; consume me. I got her where I wanted her and ripped her fucking heart out.

Since then, I’ve spent countless nights having dirty, meaningless sex with a multitude of people; only leaving them wanting and begging for more with no regrets. Some may even call me the devil; soulless.

They look and judge, but there is one thing they don’t know; no one does. I want more than this life of stripping and sleeping around; the never ending party. I want love and everything that comes with it; that high that never ends. The problem is . . . I only want it with her.

Onyx.

She refuses to be mine . . . again. She’s smart and it’s a mother fucking pain in my ass; guarding her heart while ripping mine right out of my chiseled chest. I can’t say that I blame her. I always was a dumb ass when it came to the emotions of a woman, especially her.

She wants to see me suffer as much as I made her; watch me wither and fucking die at her feet. She wants to crush me until I’m no longer breathing and I will let her, because it hurts far less than not having her as mine.

I will stop at nothing to make her mine again. The pain only drives me harder; feeding my fury and giving me a reason to live . . . her.

***Author’s note*** Due to strong language and a very high amount of sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18. This is #2 in the Walk Of Shame series of novellas that will all be STANDALONE reads. This includes F/M and F/M/M so if you’re not into dirty sex scenes with filthy language, then this book is not for you. If you are . . . then, come meet the dirty boys of Walk Of Shame.

7.  Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett (Standalone)

**Warning: This book is a wild, sexy beast of a read. 18+**

Putting a woman on her knees before me is what really makes my cock hard. I fuck with dominant force and absolute control. I demand complete surrender from my conquests.

Savage man, loner, warrior… I am dangerous at my core. I have lived amidst the untamed wild of the rainforest, in a society that reveres me and where every woman falls before me in subjugation.

Now I’ve been discovered. Forced to return to a world that I have forgotten about and to a culture that is only vaguely familiar to my senses.

Dr. Moira Reed is an anthropologist who has been hired to help me transition back into modern society. It’s her job to smooth away my rough edges… to teach me how to navigate properly through this new life of mine. She wants to tame me.

She’ll never win.

I am wild, free and raw, and the only thing I want from the beautiful Moira Reed is to fuck her into submission.

She wants it, I am certain. I will give it to her soon.

Yes, very soon, I will become the teacher and she will become my student. And when I am finished showing her body pleasure like no other, she’ll know what it feels like to be claimed by an uncivilized man.

Note: This is a big, damn book and it is a stand alone, coming in at a whopping 109,000 words.

I loved this unique and VERRRRY Hot read!

9. Cooper (Corps Security Book 5) by Harper Sloan (Interconnected Standalone)

Do you take me seriously? Because I don’t. I use my jokes and easygoing personality to hide the pain I’ve felt since he took his last breath. I’m adrift without my partner in crime, my best friend…my brother. I can taste the vengeance just within my grasp.

Until she barges into my life. Promising me happiness and a peace I’ve been craving for years. She is the sun to my darkness, the happy to my despair.

But she holds secrets. Just like I do. She holds hers close, where I just pray mine don’t rock the walls we’re trying to build.

Now I’m stuck at a crossroads between my desire for revenge and my craving for her and the life we could have together—and I have no idea which road I should travel.

All I know with crystal clear certainty is that the past has the power to destroy it all.

Return to La Rosa Prison as Annabelle tries to save Beast from his grizzly fate. Her tongue and hands are doing most of the saving.

I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.
I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.

Then, just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California.

It had been years since I’d seen Elec.

When he meets his cousin’s wife and wants her for his own, he feels he’s finally lived down to the title–black sheep. But when his cousin dies unexpectedly, Adrian denies his feelings and swears to honor them both by helping her raise her boys.

Finding himself enveloped in a cocoon of love and acceptance, Adrian realizes what he and Celeste have is more than physical even though they are powerless to act on it. But will unforeseen events that threaten to destroy those he holds dear and his newfound peace, force Adrian to fight for his shot at love?

Kindred spirits and best of friends, they attempt to douse their attraction, but Adrian always seems to know exactly how to push Celeste’s buttons and may prove too much to resist.

Will the ties that bind them be their undoing?

***Contains mild language, adult situations, and sexual content. Intended for mature audiences only.***

FAVORITE BOOK/AUDIOBOOK THIS YEAR! Mary Jane by @j FAVORITE BOOK/AUDIOBOOK THIS YEAR! Mary Jane by @jessicaanyablau was so amazing, especially in audio. This coming-of-age novel set in 1975 was different than what I usually read, and I so enjoyed seeing the 14-year-old sheltered heroine see what life is like nannying for a progressive family who happens to be hiding a rock star for the summer.

Mary Jane is the perfect summer read, especially if you grew up during this time, and the narration by @caitlin.kinnunen was absolutely outstanding.

I couldn’t recommend it more.

The full cast narration and the production of this The full cast narration and the production of this “audioplay” is what made Seatmate a 5-star read for me. The storyline was cute and I loved the characters, but it wasn’t a deep, epic romance, it was a sweet and fun novella. Listening to it with headphones made it a full experience, and Amanda Ronconi and Zachary Webber felt so natural. I really felt like I was eavesdropping on a real conversation, and it just made Seatmate by @carabastone another 5 star favorite.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by @tjenkinsreid The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by @tjenkinsreid is such a layered story, and it’s an important one. There are messages and themes running throughout to embrace all of yourself, and it shows what women have had to do throughout the years to get ahead. It’s filled with brilliant social commentary without ever hitting you over the head with it. It’s light at times, heavy at others, but engrossing the whole time. This is a book I am happy to recommend to anyone looking for a great book with our asking any qualifying questions.

I’m just starting this audiobook about a couple I’m just starting this audiobook about a couple married for 35 years, about to get a divorce, when the pandemic lockdown hits. Will being forced to be “safe at home” together help or end the marriage faster?

Tell me, what are your thoughts on pandemic romances? Is it too soon? Personally, I like it. It feels weird to not mention something that has been part of our lives for over 2 years. I will let you know how I like it later this week, stay tuned!
